MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION

The criteria for membership, as set out below is taken from the UKCMA constitution, amended in March 2008.

 

3. MEMBERSHIP/AFFILIATION

3.1  Membership is open to individuals, private companies or other organisations, which provide Crowd Management services at the following levels:

3.2 Full Membership. Open to those companies whose main area of business is to provide stewarding and security staff in support of crowd management operations.

3.3 Associate Membership. Open to those companies or individuals providing crowd management consultancy services or whose main business supports the provision of crowd management services and who also supports the aims and objectives of the Association.

 

4. APPLICATION / MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA

4.1 Applications are to be made in writing to the Secretary.

4.2 Demonstrate compliance with the provisions of BS 8406, particularly with regards to the provisions for service providers.

4.3 Train staff in accordance the British Standard, FSQ, NCFE event stewarding course or other recognised training of comparable standard.

4.4 Provide evidence that a suitably qualified and experienced management team is in place commensurate with the activities undertaken.

4.5 Applicants for Full membership must provide certified accounts for a period of three years

4.6 Applicants must show that annual turnover exceeds £500,000.00 per annum

4.7 Members should demonstrate that they continue to comply with the requirements at each annual renewal by supplying details of valid insurance and notification of any major changes to senior management including CVs of new members of their senior management team.

4.8 Members are to abide by the Association’s constitution and adhere to its aims. Members are expected to demonstrate active participation in the business of the Association and attend at least half the regular meetings per annum.  A membership may be terminated at any given time after one week’s general notice to the Association by a unanimous decision of the Officers of the Association (the Officers comprising Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer).

 4.9 Membership fees are to be paid within one month of joining the UKCMA and then within one month of each subsequent AGM, upon receipt of a valid invoice from the UKCMA. The fee shall be set at each AGM by the Association Members and will be payable in full or proportionally at the discretion of the Officers. Any failure to pay will result in Membership lapsing.

4.10 No prospective member shall be discriminated against on grounds of sex, race, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation or political opinion.
