Marthais the co-founders of Calico, a Birmingham-based social enterprise using creativity to combat gendered violence. They work with lived-experience communities to co-create campaigns that amplify their voices and drive practical social change. The ground-breaking virtual reality (VR) empathy training places users in the shoes of women travelling at night, helping teams build stronger awareness and victim-centred responses. Led by lived experience, Calico is already training policing teams across the UK. Their new VR tool, Voices in the Dark, is designed for NTE teams and will be available from March 2026.
