Bucks New University is a leading provider of academic Crowd Safety Management programmes, offering the UK’s only Foundation and BA (hons) degrees in Crowd Safety Management, as well as CPD programmes and crowd safety research and consultancy.

Bucks’ flexible courses are open to all those working within the many different sectors of the events industry.

They are is suitable for students seeking opportunities for learning and development to support their own continuing professional development (CPD), or facilitate a career change into this industry through upgrading their qualifications.

Past and current students include crowd safety managers, event producers, venue managers, sports spectator managers, local authority licensing officers, tour managers, festival and concert promoters, police officers with event planning duties, health and safety officers, carnival organisers and medical services planners. Many others are running successful companies and working at the very highest levels within the events industry.

It was recognised by the events industry that crowds and audiences present different behaviours, so this degree was established to further the study of both the audiences themselves and the appropriate ways to manage them safely and successfully.

The university’s courses and research are designed to promote and contribute to the advancement of crowd safety at events in both the UK and worldwide.

The course team comprises of senior managers who have worked at events as diverse as Glastonbury Festival and the London Olympics.
