Lloyd Major has nearly 20 years of policing experience including self-defence training, public order training & command, counter-terrorism and being an expert witness. Developing his expertise at the College of Policing, Emergency Planning College and a Master’s Degree at Coventry University, Lloyd progressed to sit on two National Police Chief’s Council policy & working groups, NPEGG & TTWEG, the National Policing Events Gold Group and Tactical Training and Work Equipment Group to write national policy on policing festivals and events. Lloyd also sat on the Safety Advisory Group in Nottinghamshire before joining Tactical Support at the National Counter Terrorism Police Operations Centre in 2016 to 2019 where he did a brief stint as the Acting Head of Tactical Support. During this time, the tragic events of the Manchester Arena Bombing unfolded, as well as many other significant international attacks. The incident in Manchester was the motivation to set up Halo Solutions and whilst building that business Lloyd joined the Organising Committee of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2019 and spent 18 months as an ACS Auditor for the SIA. Thankfully, Halo has become a success and he’s been able to phase out the ACS audits and since 2020 has been the full-time CEO at Halo and President of the Global Halo Group, supporting events and businesses in more than 30 countries to help them protect over 3 million people a day with the very best incident and operations management software and services – rooted in the collective experiences of the Halo Team and their fantastic global & local clients and supporters who together form the Halo Community, working together for safer public spaces across the world.
