Keynote Opening Panel
Our 2026 conference will open with a defining panel for the industry.
We are deeply honoured to welcome three parents who have dedicated themselves to campaigning for safer crowds and venues worldwide.
Headline Speakers
- Brian Dubiski, who lost his daughter, Madison, at the 2021 Travis Scott Astroworld concert. Overwhelming local and national support inspired Madison’s family to create the Pink Bows Foundation.
- Figen Murray, the pioneering force behind Martyn’s Law, whose son was one of the 22 innocent victims killed in the Manchester Arena terror attack in 2017.
- Ken Johnson, whose son, Scott, a Radiohead drum technician, died in the 2012 roof collapse at Toronto’s Downsview Park. Ken went on to found the Events Safety Alliance Canada (ESAC) Safety Awards.
The panel, hosted by UKCMA Chair, Anne Marie Chebib, and UKCMA Fellow, Eric Stuart, will explore the lessons learned from each incident and consider how our industry can take collective action to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
This panel has been made possible by the generous support of the Pink Bows Foundation who are also hosting ‘The Pink Lounge’ where delegates can access further information about the Foundation, Showstop course, and welfare support.
Further sessions will delve into topics including local authorities and SAGs, the complexities of hosting large-scale touring events in sports venues, the importance of language, crisis management, success stories, balancing cultural sensitivities with crowd safety, an interactive guide to Martyn’s Law, and the latest technological advancements in the industry.
